Quicktime is an incredible invention at the time. I remember when it was released (yes, I admit that I loved the old Macintosh computers, and I was really sad when I realized how Apple blowntheir likely to become the best IT company ) and how was exciting to be able to watch live images on a computer. Wow, thatwas amazing things.
QuickTime is one of the three main competitors: Real (byRealNetworks), Quicktime and Microsoft Media Player and the last in popularity it'sdead. Personally, I think that technology is very good and reliable, but Quicktime suffer theproblem it is perceived as a Macintosh product. Most peopleuse a Windows platform.
Of course, Quicktime works may be on different platforms. In fact, theproduct works very well with Windows and is definitely up theirin the quality of its competitors.
In fact, QuickTime was chosen as the base platform for the new MPEG-4 video. The next version (6.0) is supportthis file format is.
