Presentation of the film has come a long way from the beginning. Without a doubt the most significant advance is the introduction of digital cinema. And 'this technology makes the 3D movie worth watching.
Three D (3D), which is fun glasses, there is nothing new. The surround sound has been around for a long time, too. For those of you old like me, I remember a curve "Cinemascope" on the screen?
All this progress has been made to improve our sense of "being there" when you look at the movie theater or cinema. But they were all missing something .... something, I'm happy to say that now has become a theater near you.
Digital Cinema, I think it's just a significant step in the development of the sector in recent decades. The reasons are obvious. ? It is now possible to display images corresponding to high-definition television display throughout the house. ? Do not need to look washed out is looking for a third-generation film print that comes with scratches, burn holes and wheat. Picture ? is stable as a rock, why not roll the film on the sprocket pins for registration of a traditional projector.
? As the film is derived from the hard drive instead of a big roll film, the presentation is not limited to the voltage at 24 fps. Softer pans are now possible because of digital algorithms can be applied to objects of recovery.
Do not appears and click. Once again, the sound source is a fully digital.
What really motivates me to write this was my recent viewing of Avatar ?. The story does not get screwed on the seat in a theater. It 'was interesting, but not the most interesting films I've ever seen. As a single source of business, which makes the Digital Cinema projectors here in Ontario (and delivered to my local theater), I wanted to see what digital projection, combined with the 3D technology could do.
It was immediately apparent to me that the same effect could not have been produced with a film based on 3D. The timing was very good for Mr Cameron to release this epic. The technology does the work. Any artifact found were minor, brief, and undetectable, probably because of the general population. The experience was perfect, spotless from corner to corner. I even found myself twitching to dodge a shot that seemed to fly off the screen and the right of my head genius
So what is next to the theater experience? In my humble opinion, the quality and resolution of the visual presentation is now almost at the limit of what we can discern humans. Then maybe wrap the screen will return, or holograms. As with the stimulation of other senses such as smell and touch?
And what about home movies? If the recent use Electronics Show in Las Vegas is an accurate, 3D HDTV soon in a living room near you. Think about it. Not only will you find the remote in the couch, but maybe your 3D glasses as well.
