Just got back from America I was struck toEngland again by the amount of bad words goeson. Bad words are used more punctuation is frequentlythan a given sentence, it seems.
Americansthink Many Britons as represented by the term "Bloodythis" or "blood". Ihave to say that this view is outdated, I wish this was the only bad word used
It took me five minutes walk from the local store yesterday and my ears were assaulted by an angry election Farmor Color swear, I can assure you. Not only that, the voices were strong, people walking by theattitude was arrogant, and gave off a totaldisrespect for someone else in the neighborhood.
Why not assume that somany British people is not only cool to swear, but it seems most SeeIT normal "way of being?" For my part, simply "do not understand." And the more I am subject this assault to my ears and my feelings, themore I do not. I have to admit that is seen as an extreme example of total ignorance.
I'm not aprude. I'm not againstswearing. But let's face it, there is atime and place for most things and the band should not be an exception. The only way a company survives ISIF there is a basis of mutual respect. There are rules that we observe some written and others unwritten. When these rules are broken, so is the community.
We believe infreedom of speech and freedom of choice, but not to the extent that other dictatesto or spoil their enjoyment of life. And so the concept of freedom of expression is always going to becompromises that many of us are willing to do out of respect for others.
We can enjoi particular type of music, but we know that it is unfair that when our neighbors TOPlay the highest volume with the windows open at midnight. We are all aware of the concept behind closed doors, we can do pretty much as we want, but the public of our behavior mightrequire some adjustments.
Why dopeople who swear by a chronically public to think that is ok? Actually do not know that other people can find peoplemay abuse. Why do you wantto deliberate abuse other people, people who have not done anything like that toprovoke contempt?
InBritain swearing seems to have become "normalized" and it's a shame. We see on television, we hear that INTHE streets, and many children are raised with her in their house. But when you go and spend time in adifferent culture and then come back you really notice how affectsyou gang. Sometimes I have to admit I amembarrassed to be British.
