Bow Wow to play, Kevin Carson, a boy with a nice bigimagination live in the projects of his grandmother (played by LorettaDevine). When Kevin is not spending time around with his best friendsBenny (played by Brandon T. Jackson) and Stacie (Naturi Naughton), is working atthe local Foot Locker. Kevin dreams of one day running his own design company of shoes, but continually ridiculed by people who say they will never OutOf projects.
Powerball lottery come from the city, causing much excitement as the locals spend their money trying to getrich. Kevin tells anyone who will listen that the lottery is just a racketdesigned to keep poor people poor. But soon he is caught in the fever, and finally he bought a ticket using the numbers given to him in the cookie afortune.
As luck would have Kevin ticket ends up being the Powerball lottery thewinner $ 370 million. But since this is the beginning 4thof July weekend in the lottery is closed for three days. Today, most people inthat situation fits into a motel or your own room for three days untilthe Lottery office reopens ... but after he accidentally let slip wonthe billion, double the ticket Kevin in your wallet in your back pocket andspends three days walking around the projects.
The rest of the movie is about Kevin tries to keep ticket ontohis all out of the woodwork to get a piece of the prize.
Comedian Mike Epps has a brief but memorable appearance as Minister theBaptist after learning of the winning ticket is trying to get hishands of the money. He is faithful to his flock, but can not help thinking about his possible future with that kind of cash. Epps is great fun and you want itmakes he had a bigger role.
Loretta Devine is perfect, since the grandmother of Kevin, who alwayshas a "Praise Jesus" ready to recite. She is proud of how Kevin grows upand are worried about what that money could do for him.
A couple of old-time gangster (played by David Keith Crews andTerry) Kevin a "bridge loan" of their profits and become a realproblem.
Teairra Mari has a local gold-digging temptress who cling to sexual triesusing Kevin million. A true chocolate, trying to get Kevinto fertilizing, but is smart enough to say no.
But neighbors of the most dangerous Kevin turns out to be criminal Hardcore Lorenzo (played by Gbenga Akinnagbe). Lorenzo likes Kevin Kevinbecause already refused to give her free shoes Foot Locker. So when Kevin Lorenzolearns that walks around with $ 370 million in his pocket, he decides that he will stop at nothing ... including murder ... for money.
By far the funniest character in the best lines is better beKevin friend Benny. He always tries to come up with "big ideas", and when he sees that Kevin is being harassed by anyone cares thestreet invents a preposterous plot, but very fun to escape to the map of the old city of his book Underground Railroad usingan high school history. Fantastic.
Lottery Ticket is a very sweet film with some funny comments andthoughtful on sexual responsibility and the need to be charitableto your community.
